Just been selected for the Junior GB lead climbing team and only 12 years old (ok nearly 13). https://www.thebmc.co.uk/2014-gb-junior-climbing-teams-selected

I've been climbing since I was 18 months old but started seriously at 6 years old. Watching a climbing competition made me want to compete and try to get a place on the GB team - I DID IT!!!

I also love to trad climb on grit when I can but haven't had a chance this year.

Leading Ladder Final

I was not in the right frame of mind going into this. I didn't really want to do it even before we got to Wales and as the routes started with a nails 6c+ (people falling off left right and centre) and heading upwards, I somehow ended in a negative spiral.
I fell off at the start of the 7a+ which was the only one that Gwyneth Uttley and Pippa Watkin topped. I got straight back on but was so tense I didn't climb well and came off below the top. When I tried it for my 3rd and final time I came off at the start again blowing that route and the whole comp.

Crack Masterclass with Tom Randall and Pete Whittaker

Had a great time at the Foundry doing the Wild Country Crack Masterclass.
Was put with Pete - only kid in his group! (he had the experienced crack climbers!!?? - was put in the group by Tom as he knows I climb Trad)
I climbed all the cracks and not all the adults did! Then climbed the doorframes at home again as well.

GB junior lead training weekend 8-9th March

I had a great time meeting up with everyone again at Awesome Walls in Sheffield.
They had brought in some internation route setters to give us some routes of internation comp standard - my first was an 7b+ and I got to 4 moves from the top - higher than anyone else in my group! I then had a go at a 7c and came off at the same place as Aiden Dunne on my onsight but got further on my later attempts
The 2nd day I had a go at redpointing an 8a+.
