I was not in the right frame of mind going into this. I didn't really want to do it even before we got to Wales and as the routes started with a nails 6c+ (people falling off left right and centre) and heading upwards, I somehow ended in a negative spiral.
I fell off at the start of the 7a+ which was the only one that Gwyneth Uttley and Pippa Watkin topped. I got straight back on but was so tense I didn't climb well and came off below the top. When I tried it for my 3rd and final time I came off at the start again blowing that route and the whole comp.
This is my first negative competition in ages and I need to put it behind me for next weeks YCS 3rd round!
(not sure I'll ever do a leading ladder again!)
