About Me

Published by abbierivett

Just been selected for the Junior GB lead climbing team and only 12 years old (ok nearly 13). https://www.thebmc.co.uk/2014-gb-junior-climbing-teams-selected

I've been climbing since I was 18 months old but started seriously at 6 years old. Watching a climbing competition made me want to compete and try to get a place on the GB team - I DID IT!!!

I also love to trad climb on grit when I can but haven't had a chance this year.

Bit more about me in my 1st blog post.

Worked further on the Mammut Challange 6b+ and 6c routes ground up. Didn't get much further but have worked out how to do the the 6c. wink

Mum and Luke made me try the steep 6b+ on the Five Ten wall again - got further but not as far as on my first time.

Climbing at The Foundry

Yesterday I went climbing with Noah, Mum, Dad, Thomas and Sam Doyle

I worked hard on the Mammut challenge problems, having already flashed the 5 easiest ones. The start of the 6b+ had proved to be more challanging than other 6b+ leads I've done so this needed more work as did the 6c.

I first worked the 6c ground up getting to 1/2 on 2nd attempt but my 3rd took me no further.

I moved to the 6b+ and quickly got past the move I had got stuck on previously. I topped the tufa to find I ended up sliding off the sloper and after a another 2 attempts I got no further.
